原発事故から10年――フクシマの概観
2011年3月11日に東日本を襲った地震と津波、そして福島の原発事故から10年を迎えます。ピースボートは国際NGOとしてこれまで被害の実相や脱原発への展望を世界に発信してきましたが、この機に「原発事故から10年」にあたる福島と日本の現状を海外向けにまとめ、英語で発信しました。「10年目のフクシマ―その概観」(Fukushima 10 Years On – An Overview)と題する文章を私が執筆し、ピースボートのメリ・ジョイスが翻訳しました。

Ten years have passed since the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck eastern Japan on March 11, 2011, and the subsequent disaster at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. A new article by Peace Boat’s Kawasaki Akira, translated by Meri Joyce, outlines the current situation of the people impacted by this unprecedented nuclear disaster, the prospects (or lack thereof) for the decommissioning of the plant that caused the disaster, and the possibility of using this experience as an opportunity to phase out nuclear power in Japan.
